Happy New Year!

I resolve to do a lot of "house-cleaning" this year. As I mentioned last year there are some small changes coming to this site. I intend to work on it all year, though, hopefully it won't actually last that long.

In the meantime, here is a desktop wallpaper (out of a couple or so I'd promised late last year.) Read more at my blog or follow the link in the left column to the "Three Shells" desktop wallpapers.

Nothin' Doin'

That's the way the whole spring and summer has been going. Nothing but baseball on my mind.

I'll dig up something for you soon, whether it's another desktop wallpaper or a webpage background or a set to use on your website.

There are also small changes coming to this site.

Kaleidoscope Border Web Page Backgrounds

Toying with kaleidoscope effects again I created a 100x100 tile from a photograph of a fountain by "alcinoe" of and used it as a border on four different backgrounds, two side borders and two top borders. Check them out via the links in the left column!

Reminder: Using the HTML of a Set or Background as a Template

Once again I need to remind my visitors that if you download a set or a background and copy the HTML for the sample page, please delete all the text content including and especially my Sitemeter code before you continue creating your web pages.

Someone using the RoadRunner ISP in Wilmington, N.C. was doing what they're not supposed to do. That action skews my stats, because it keeps activating Sitemeter's record mode every time you edit your page with my Sitemeter code intact.

If you're using a WYSIWYG editor, you will not see Sitemeter on the page in edit mode. You will, however, see the code in HTML mode at or near the bottom of the page. It begins with <!-- Site Meter -->  and ends with <!-- Copyright (c)2009 Site Meter --> Be sure to delete it and replace it with your own counter code.

Thank you for following this request.

I'm undergoing eye surgery for the second time in three months. Creating graphics - and websites - is such a visual thing. I don't know how well I'll be able to see to do graphics for the next few months, but I hope my downtime will be short. Meanwhile, please enjoy the graphics available now. Valentine's Day is coming!

Happy New Year! And More Maintenance

I found that a font source that supposedly was going through a site makeover instead deleted font offerings altogether. So I needed to find other font source(s). Additionally, the graphic set the font was used on was modified a bit because I found I disliked the text color I used originally. Way too much pink on the page.

Looked at some graphics software and their links to update information.

Desktop Wallpaper: Skateboards

Late today (in some parts of the world), I uploaded six (yes!) different sizes of a desktop wallpaper featuring skateboards with the accompanying legs of the skateboarders. Read more details on my blog (opens new window) or go to the page from the link in the left column.

Earth Day 2010 Desktop Wallpapers

These desktop wallpapers come in five sizes ranging from 600x450 to 1280x960. Going to one of my favorite sources for free stock photos,, I picked photos representing just four out of the many diverse images of our planet. From sky to sea, from verdant jungle to dry desert, they're there. Hope you enjoy them. And remember, Earth Day is April 22nd, the 40th observance of this day.

Still Writing "2009?"

Happy new year! Belatedly, of course. It really hasn't started out all rosy, has it? Life goes on, whether we like the outcome or not.

I'm still in a funk from what happened in my life the past two months. So while I've looked at more graphics to make into something cool for you, I haven't done anything about it. As I mentioned last month, I do have a few selections of wintry graphics you may want to look at:

Hopefully, I'll be out of this funk (the constant rainy and cloudy days do not help!) next month and will offer something new for you. In the meantime, keep a positive attitude and, as the saying goes, "Don't let the turkeys get you down." ;-)

Happy Holidays!

I hope your Thanksgiving holiday was nice and relaxing, in prep for the crazy holiday shopping to come. The hubby and I were amazed at what lengths stores would go to bring in customers early and often this year. 3 a.m. opening on Black Friday?! Ugh!

Anyway, this little note is to tell you that due to foreseen and unforeseen situations, I won't be offering any more graphics this year. I did get my computer fixed and backed up. Yea! Kudos to the guys at Central Computers. Great job doing the work in 24 hours what would have taken me 24 months to do.

I suggest taking a look at some of the existing wintry, holiday-type graphics on this site:

New Graphics Delay

I hope most of you are more diligent in backing up your computer's hard drive with all those important and mostly irreplaceable photos, etc., than I am. When you experience software or hardware problems, it may be a bit too late to consider doing so. While it's not cheap, you have options for backing up your data: online data storage, a removable data storage device, or an external hard drive. All are good investments. So, where I'm going with this is I didn't do as I should and am now in a position of having to delay offering more graphics until my own computer problems are resolved. My apologies to all :(

New Desktop Wallpaper: Fan's Eye View Behind Home Plate

Now that baseball is well into the 2009 season and has started interleague play, I decided to offer a baseball-themed desktop wallpaper to celebrate. I've played around with the original photograph, which I took some time ago, in Virtual Painter and sized it in four different resolutions (sizes) to fit most monitors, desktop and laptop computers alike...Read more of my comments in the blog or click the link in the left-hand column on this page to go to the thumbnail image page and choose your resolution.

Maintenance Day

I don't have any graphics to offer on the last day of this month. Instead, I've done some maintenance on many pages of this site after realizing a lot had not been updated in a year, some in a few years. Oops!

Now that that's over with, I can concentrate on bringing out more graphics in the coming months as well as updating this site with a fresh new look, which I'm still working on.
